DP Andre Lascaris discusses how to identify the key narrative elements in your script and how to use them to construct a point of view, the foundation of a good film. Tonight’s program will focus on how to pinpoint the narrative, visual, and emotional cues of a scene and how to apply those concepts in your cinematography. Some of the discussion points will be building common ground and communication with your crew, creating a concise but detailed shot list, and to showcase how important pre-production is to the success to your film. Please come with lots of questions to help develop next steps for your next film.

Andre’s narrative cinematography ranges from the critically acclaimed features such as ABOUT ALEX and GOOD DICK to the highly controversial documentary STOLEN SEAS, which examines modern day Piracy off the coast of Somalia. His recent narrative work has teamed him up with Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard on “WHEN YOU FIND ME”, Ed Zwick and Jesse Zwick on “ABOUT ALEX” and Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti on the “ENVELOPE”. Andre’s has collaborated with notable clients such as CANON, SAMSUNG, NISSAN, ADIDAS and NIKE on numerous commercials.
