Front Porch Cinema Free Outdoor Movie Experience Returns to the Santa Monica Pier Every Friday Night From Sept. 30-Oct. 28
Relax on the Front Porch of the Pacific with Classic Outdoor Films, Food, Drinks and Ocean Breezes This Fall
(Santa Monica, Calif.; Sept. 20, 2016) – Continuing the endless summer in Southern California, the Santa Monica Pier today announced the return of Front Porch Cinema, a free movie series under the stars every Friday night from Sept. 30-Oct. 28. The Pier will transform into a cozy front porch environment, providing the perfect setting for a night of movies, food and activities with a variety of films for all ages.
The series will kick off with the family-friendly hit movie, “Zootopia” on Sept. 30, dig into Pulitzer Prize awarded food critic Jonathan Gold’s documentary “City of Gold” on Oct. 7, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on Oct. 14, “Labyrinth: 30th Anniversary” on Oct. 21 and a bonus screening onFriday, Oct. 28 of “Tight Loose,” an extreme ski/snow doc presented by Teton Gravity Research.
Guests can unwind on old-timey lawn chairs and watch oceanfront films on a giant inflatable screen with the highest quality HD-projection and line-array sound provided by LA’s premier outdoor movie producers, EatISeeIHear.
“We are excited about this year’s eclectic line up of films,” said Santa Monica Pier Administrator, Jay Farrand. “Front Porch Cinema is fun for all ages, and a one of a kind movie watching experience on the Pier.”
This year’s Front Porch Cinema series is co-produced by award-winning producers, Eat|See|Hear. Each week features curated cocktails themed to the film in the Cinema Lounge as well as fun and unique on-site activities and entertainment.  “Zootopia” on Sept. 30 will feature free ice cream for the first 100 people as well as arts and crafts and face painting for the kids. “Labyrinth: 30th Anniversary” on Oct. 21 will start the night off with a special David Bowie tribute DJ Set and a sneak preview of CBS’ new show “The Great Indoors” starring John McHale.Finally, there will be a bonus screening on Friday, Oct. 28 of “Tight Loose,” an extreme ski/snow doc presented by Teton Gravity Research.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs, as only a limited number will be available for rent. The Cinema Lounge offers a cozy bar with curated cocktails from Deep Eddy Vodka, and Boulevard Brewing Company as well as seating for guests to enjoy before and during the film  (must be 21 and over to enter).

This year’s Front Porch Cinema partners include Boulevard Brewing Company, Laemmle, Cinelife, Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and 98.7 – iHeart Media.
Parking will be available in the lot north of the pier at 1550 Pacific Coast Highway, and FREE bike valet will be provided.
